The Central Michigan Chippewas and Northern Illinois Huskies face off on Wednesday in some midweek college football MACtion at Huskie Stadium. When these two teams faced off last October it was Northern Illinois that secured the 39-38 victory. 

Central Michigan comes into this game with a 2-6 record overall and they have gone 2-5-1 against the spread. In the last game against Bowling Green, Central Michigan only scored 18 points and that led to the 16-point defeat. Jase Bauer completed 18 of his 25 passes for 185 yards, one touchdown, and one interception. He also rushed 16 times for 109 yards. Star running back Lew Nichols missed the last game with an injury and it’s unclear if he’s going to be able to go here. Central Michigan overall this season is averaging 25.3 points while their defense is giving up 29.9 points per game. 

On the other side of this matchup is Northern Illinois and they sit with a 2-6 record overall. In the last game against the Ohio Bobcats, the defense wasn’t awful giving up 24 points, but the offense managed 17 points. Quarterback Justin Lynch completed 9 of his 18 passes for 110 yards, zero touchdowns, and zero interceptions. Antonio Brown finished with 16 carries for 160 yards. Northern Illinois is averaging 30.8 points while their defense is giving up 33 points per game. in this game the Huskies defense is going to need to be good.
