The Boston Celtics take a 2-0 NBA Finals lead to the Dallas Mavericks' home court, and we're breaking down our top Celtics vs. Mavs last-minute predictions based on the best NBA odds for today's Game 3 matchup.
The Boston Celtics have lived up to their billing as the NBA championship odds favorites through two games of the NBA Finals. Now Boston will have to conquer the Dallas Mavericks as a 2.5-point underdog in enemy territory with Game 3 set for tonight at 8:30 p.m. ET (ABC) from American Airlines Center in Dallas.
While no one Celtics player has dominated the series, it's been a masterclass in how far a well-built team can go. However, the return of Kristaps Porzingis to the lineup may already be cut short with the big man questionable after sustaining a leg injury in Game 2.
That could open the door for Luka Doncic to lead Dallas to its first win of the series while continuing to shorten his NBA Finals MVP odds.
Here are our best Celtics vs. Mavericks player props and NBA picks for Game 3.

Celtics vs. Mavericks prop bet predictions today
Despite Boston's 2-0 series lead, Jayson Tatum's shooting struggles have been picked apart by talking heads. His scoring issues are so blatant that there's a real chance the Celtics could win the series and Doncic would be given NBA Finals MVP in a losing effort – the only player to ever win it in after losing was the late great Jerry West.
Even with Tatum forgetting that the ball is supposed to go through the basket, he's been proving his worth in every other way. He's averaging 16.6 rebounds and assists in the playoff and we highlighted his double-double dominance in our Celtics vs. Mavericks parlay.
The Celtics' star has finished with 16-plus rebounds and assists in 12 of 16 playoff games and eight of his last nine. These odds imply a 53.49% win probability, according to our odds converter, with a $10 bet paying out $18.70.

Brad Stevens should probably be given NBA Finals MVP if the Celtics win it all. He made the genius move of trading for Jrue Holiday after the Portland Trail Blazers acquired him from the Milwaukee Bucks. He flipped Robert Williams, Malcolm Borgdon, and two first-round picks for him, and I'd say it worked out pretty well.
Williams and Brogdon played a combined 45 games this year and Holiday has a legitimate case for Finals MVP. The 34-year-old (his birthday's today!) is coming off a special Game 2 performance and has been on fire since Game 3 against the Cleveland Cavaliers. Over his last nine games, he's finished with an Over 24.5 PRA eight times.
During that stretch, Holiday's averaged 29.9 PRA, which is why this price is a steal. This same prop is as short as -131, implying a 56.71% win probability, but our odds pay a $9.26 profit.

Have we considered that Kyrie Irving is Jerry Jones' sleeper cell? He knew if the Mavericks and Texas Rangers both won titles before the Dallas Cowboys this decade it would be a bad look. It's been fun to watch the Mavericks backcourt go from being the hottest thing since Adolis Garcia to Doncic getting blown by on defense and Irving bricking every shot.
There's a chance Irving was off given the disdain every single person in TD Garden has for him, but I don't think he's going to get back on track in Game 3. Holiday and Derrick White are as good as it gets defensively and Kyrie is averaging 20.5 PRA while shooting 35.1% in the Finals.
He's averaging 30.7 PRA in the playoffs and has gone Over 32.5 four times in his last 13 games. These odds imply a 50.5% win probability with a $10 bet paying $19.80.
