It's been a worst-case scenario for the Dallas Mavericks in the NBA Finals. Down 3-0 to the Boston Celtics entering Game 4 at American Airlines Center in Dallas on Friday at 8:30 p.m. ET (ABC), Luka Doncic will need to prove his worth after a horrific showing in Game 3.
While the Celtics are the runaway favorites by the NBA championship odds, they're a 1-point underdog on the road for Game 4. Even if Dallas stops the sweep, no team has ever come back from 0-3 in the NBA Finals, and with Doncic no longer playing like a serious NBA Finals MVP odds contender, the deck is stacked against the Mavericks.

SGP predictions for Celtics vs. Mavericks
Feels like just yesterday that Doncic had everyone believing in the Mavericks' chances to win it all after stunning the Oklahoma City Thunder and Minnesota Timberwolves en route to the Finals. Now it seems crazy to think anyone thought Dallas could knock off Boston.
Beyond his stupid foul that forced him out of Game 3, Doncic's defense, shooting, and turnover issues have been a huge problem. Yet, he's still running up All-NBA numbers against one of the league's top defenses thanks to his usage being comparable to that of a running back in the 1960s.
His sheer volume is a reason why he's recorded a double-double in 15 of 20 games this postseason and four of his last five. Taking him to do it again is a safe way to start this SGP, with the -225 odds implying a 69.23% win probability, according to our odds converter.
Doncic's performance has led to him recording sit-down interviews ahead of Game 4 in a public relations move to save face after trying to take one of the stupidest charges in NBA history, and then screaming at everyone else about it.
Meanwhile, Tatum's poor play has him finding other ways to impact the game.
Even in Game 3, his best performance of the Finals, Tatum shot poorly outside of the first quarter, going 2-for-9 (22.2%) from three in the final three quarters. In 17 games this postseason, Tatum has only hit more than three 3-pointers twice. He's shooting an abysmal 29.1% f rom three in the playoffs.
I'm shocked this line is even being offered, albeit at short odds, given how infrequently he's hit Over 3.5 threes. These odds are tough to bet straight, but the price works perfectly in this SGP, as this leg gets a 61.54% win probability.
There's something poetic about seeing Al Horford on the cusp of ending his NBA championship drought. He won two titles at Florida but has spent 17 years chasing that same feeling in the NBA. At 38 years old, Horford is still playing a key role for Boston, too.
That's been especially true with Kristaps Porzingis missing all but six playoff games due to injury, and he's questionable for Game 4. Horford has been stepping up as a floor spacer and rim-protector in his absence. He's averaging a block per game against the Mavs and has notched 13 in his last eight playoff outings.
With Porzingis potentially out aga in, Horford will get plenty of playing time and shot-blocking opportunities. These odds imply a 68.75% win probability and bring the SGP to +240. The +240 odds pay $34 on a $10 winning bet, with a 29.41% probability each leg hits.
