The Canisius Golden Griffins will head to the Bronx and face the Manhattan Jaspers in Metro Atlantic play from the Draddy Gymnasium on ESPN. Manhattan and Canisius have faced off 90 times, with the Jaspers holding a 52-38 series lead.
Canisius dropped to 2-11 after losing to Mount St. Mary’s on the road. The Golden Griffins dropped their ninth game in a row after losing to the Mount by four points. Canisius is scoring 74.1 points per game, while allowing 73.1 ppg and shooting 45.5% from the floor.
Canisius is coming off of another close loss, and you have to wonder if they’ll ever manage to cross the finish line this season. Fifth-year starter Jordan Henderson went for 19 points in the lone D1 win over St. Bonnie’s, and he’s averaging a career-high in scoring at 13.5 ppg. Tahj Staveskie (12.2 ppg) has reached double figures in five of six games.
