Campbell spent 40 years in the Big South so it appeared to be a huge change when they moved to the CAA for this upcoming season. However, the Camels have adjusted well, despite going just 16-18 overall and 8-10 in the Big South last season. It starts with three returning starters and then the ability to win on the road (2-1 CAA). Campbell also beat one of the favorites in the league, Hofstra, 69-68 on Jan. 13 as a 9-point home dog. They did not have a letdown on Thursday when they met William & Mary and beat the Tribe 77-64 as a 4.5-point dog from Williamsburg. Campbell shot a sizzling 62% from the field (4-16 3pt, 5-11 FT) led by 26 points and eight rebounds from Anthony Dell'Orso. Laurynas Viastaras added 21 points, six assists and five boards for the Camels.

The Camels rank 308th according to KenPom and that's likely due to a strength of schedule of 356. They are also ranked 321st in Adjusted Offensive Efficiency and 247th in Adjusted Defensive Efficiency. Campbell is led by Dell'Orso (6-6, 190), a sophomore wing from Australia, who is averaging 17.6 points and 6.3 rebounds with 1.6 steals on 46.2% shooting (32.3%). Vaistaras, a senior from Lithuania, adds 10.9 points and 4.2 rebounds with 2.9 assists on 58.2% shooting (44.4% 3pt). The Camels average 68.9 points per game on 46% shooting (31.9% 3pt). They struggle on the boards where they rank 335th in offensive rebounding %, while Towson ranks fourth.
