California vs. Oregon State Prediction, Preview, and Odds – 11-12-2022

California Golden Bears (3-6) vs. Oregon State Beavers (6-3)

Week 11 of the 2022 college football season brings the Pac-12 Conference showdown from Reser Stadium in Corvallis, Oregon, where the California Golden Bears square off against the Oregon State Beavers.

California opens as a 13.5-point road underdog with a total of 49.0 points. The Golden Bears aim for their second straight victory over the Beavers after beating Oregon State 39-25 as 2.5-point home dogs in 2021.

The California Golden Bears (3-6; 5-4 ATS; 1-5 conf.) are on a five-game losing streak following a 41-35 defeat at the No. 9 USC Trojans this past Saturday. They were down by 20 points at the start of the fourth quarter but made it interesting to watch down the stretch, as Jaydn Ott’s touchdown and a two-point conversion cut the deficit to six with 2:31 left on the clock. California covered a 21-point spread, finishing with 469 total yards, but the Golden Bears yielded 515 yards in a return including 155 on just 28 rushing attempts.

Jack Plummer went off for 406 yards, three touchdowns, and an interception, completing 35 of his 49 passing attempts. Jeremiah Hunter and Mavin Anderson combined for 189 receiving yards and a couple of scores, while Jaydn Ott had seven catches for 70 yards and 14 totes for 50 yards and a couple of scores.

“The expectation is to play better football,” California head coach Justin Wilcox said. “I love the competitiveness. The guys played really hard to compete. They never quit… but at the end of the day, it’s about winning.”

The Golden Bears are winless since September 24 and a 49-31 Week 4 victory to the Arizona Wildcats when Ott exploded for 274 rushing yards and three touchdowns. Freshman RB has accounted for 262 yards on the ground through five games since then and now sits at 938 yards from scrimmage and nine touchdowns for the season.

Jack Plummer has thrown for 2,374 yards, 16 touchdowns, and six interceptions over the last nine games. J. Michael Sturdivant leads the way for the receiving corps with 570 yards and six touchdowns on 51 catches, while Jeremiah Hunter has 41 receptions for 646 yards and three scores.
