California vs. Oregon Prediction, Preview, and Odds – 3-2-2023

The Oregon Ducks (16-13) will host the California Golden Bears (3-26) Wednesday night in a Pac-12 match-up. The Ducks beat the Golden Bears 87-58 when these teams met on January 18.

The 2022-23 season has been a complete nightmare for California. On Saturday, the Golden Bears lost their 13th straight game, falling to Washington State 63-57, dropping them to 2-16 in the Pac-12 in their final home game. California will now face Oregon and Oregon State on the road for their last two games. Against the spread California is 12-17, and the over/under is 13-16.

The Golden Bears are 262nd in the country, according to KenPom. They are 186th in adjusted defensive efficiency and 311th offensively. Although California has faced the 35th strongest schedule, their resume still includes a lot of losses to mid-majors including teams like UC Davis, UC San Diego, Southern, Texas State, and Eastern Washington.

The injury list for California is extensive and headlined by Devin Askew (15.5 ppg), who is out for the rest of the season. Lars Thiemann (9.6 ppg) and DeJuan Clayton (9.2 ppg) are both questionable, making Kuany Kuany (9.1 ppg) the leading scorer who is not on the injured list.
