California at Washington State – 1/11/23 College Basketball Picks and Prediction

The Cal Golden Bears and Washington State Cougars face off on Wednesday in a college basketball showdown at the Beasley Coliseum. When these two teams faced off in March it was Washington State that secured the 66-59 victory.

Cal comes into this game with a 3-13 record overall and they have gone 7-9 against the spread. It hasn’t been a good season, but maybe they are finally turning the corner, and they have won two games in a row. In the last game against Stanford, California scored 92 points and they ended up winning by 22 points. Dejuan Clayton finished with 26 points, six assists, and three rebounds. California is averaging 61.5 points while their defense is giving up 66.6 points per game. Even though the offense overall hasn’t been good, it has been better the last two games. Devin Askew is averaging 16.1 points while shooting 39.3 percent from the field and 30.6 percent from behind the three point line. He has sat out the last two games and it’s unclear if he’s going to be able to go in this game.

On the other side of this matchup is Washington State who sits with a 7-10 record and they have gone 8-9 against the spread. In the last game against Arizona the defense was elite giving up only 61 points and that led to the 13 point victory. Mouhamed Gueye had a strong game finishing with 24 points and 14 rebounds. Washington State is averaging 69.7 points while their defense is giving up 66.1 points per game.
