California at Santa Clara – 12/18/22 College Basketball Picks and Prediction

The California Golden Bears will take the one-hour trip through the bay and face the Santa Clara Broncos in non-conference action this Sunday from the Leavey Center on WCC. California and Santa Clara have faced off five times since 2001, and the Golden Bears hold a 4-1 series lead.

Cal dropped to 0-11 after losing to Butler at home last weekend. The Golden Bears’ struggles continued, as they’d go on to suffer their biggest loss of the season from the Bulldogs. Cal is scoring 57.6 points per game, while shooting 38.9% from the field, and 25.4% from deep.

Devin Askew transferred home to Berkeley, and despite the winless record, he’s finally been able to showcase his ability. The 6’3 guard scored a career-high 25 points in the loss to Arizona, and he leads Cal with 18.2 ppg. 7’1 Lars Thiemann mans the frontcourt and averages 12.4 ppg and 6.7 rpg.
