Calgary Flames (8-7-2) vs. Philadelphia Flyers (7-7-4)

The 2022-23 NHL betting action continues Monday with this interconference battle when Calgary Flames travel to take on the Philadelphia Flyers at the Wells Fargo Center in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.

Calgary is in the midst of a six-game road trip that has seen the team go 1-1 through the first two games after a 5-4 victory over Florida on Saturday. Philadelphia returns home for a single contest after a three-game road trip that saw the club go 0-1-2. They lost to Montréal in a shootout on Saturday, 5-4. This is the first meeting between these teams this season. The clubs split the two contests last year.

The Calgary Flames (8-7-2, 5-12 ATS) earned a shootout victory over Florida on Saturday, 5-4. Calgary held three leads in this game, including an early 2-0 advantage, then added goals to take a one-goal lead twice in this contest, but could not hold those leads either time, eventually needing the extra session to earn the victory. The win moved the Flames to 3-5-2 in their last 10 and they are 2-3-1 on the road.

“It was good,” Jonathan Huberdeau said. “Obviously here, obviously wanted to win, too, so yeah, it was big getting the goal in the shootout here. That was cool.”

Huberdeau scored the game-winner in the shootout, delivering the victory for Calgary in his first game since being acquired from Florida. Adam Ruzicka had two goals and added an assist and now has four goals over his last five games. Jacob Markstrom allowed four goals on 35 shots and has not been as dominant as last season, going 7-4-2 with a 3.11 GAA and a .887 save percentage. The Flames are 23rd in goals allowed per game (3.41).
