Nazem Kadri, Tyler Toffoli, and Elias Lindholm have combined for 37 goals and 46 assists to lead the top two lines but the rest of the offense has also stepped up. Jonathan Huberdeau, Dillon Dube, and Mikael Backlund have contributed 18 goals and 41 assists while defenseman Rasmus Andersson has added four goals and 18 assists from the point to help open up the offense.
The offense has been great but the defense has struggled, allowing 3.03 goals per game. Nikita Zadorov, Rasmus Andersson, and Noah Hanifin have combined for 5.8 defensive point shares but the rest of the unit has struggled, allowing opponents to find open shots on the net at will. In addition, goaltender Dan Vladar has struggled in the net with a .905 save percentage and a 2.81 goals-against av erage on 317 shots.
