Calgary Flames vs. Arizona Coyotes Prediction, Preview, and Odds – 3-14-2023

The Calgary Flames face the Arizona Coyotes with both teams looking to improve on rough seasons. The Flames have a 30-24-13 record and with only four wins in their last 10 games have fallen out of the playoff picture in the Western Conference while the Coyotes have a 24-32-11 record and are near the bottom of the Western Conference. Both teams look to improve in the conference and the upcoming game looks to be a good one.

The Flames are having a rocky season despite their offense stepping up and scoring 3.04 goals per game with five goals in their last game. Tyler Toffoli, Nazem Kadri, and Elias Lindholm have scored 66 goals and 94 assists to lead the top two lines but the rest of the offenses stepped up as well. Jonathan Huberdeau, Dillon Dube, and Mikael Backlund have combined for 45 goals and 81 assists while defenseman Rasmus Andersson has added nine goals and 32 assists from the point to open up the offense.

The offense has been great but the defense has struggled, allowing 3.00 goals per game. Rasmus Andersson and Noah Hanifin have combined for 7.6 defensive point shares but the rest of the unit has struggled, allowing opponents to find open shots on the net at will. In addition, goaltender Jacob Markstrom has struggled with a .895 save percentage and a 2.83 goals-against average on 1201 shots with -1 2.1 goals saved above average.
