BYU vs St. Mary's Prediction – Basketball Picks 3/6/23

The BYU Cougars and Saint Mary’s Gaels face off on Monday in a college basketball showdown in the West Coast Conference Tournament at Orleans Arena. When these two teams faced off on February 18th it was Saint Mary’s that secured the 71-65 victory. 

BYU comes into this game with a 19-14 record overall and they have gone 18-13 against the spread. On Saturday, BYU faced off against Loyola Marymount in the WCC Tournament and they were able to secure a 73-63 victory. Rudi Williams had a strong game finishing with 23 points, two rebounds, and two assists. BYU is averaging 75.7 points while their defense is giving up 69.7 points per game. Fousseyni Traore is having a strong season averaging 13 points while shooting 61.1 percent from the field.

On the other side of this matchup is Saint Mary’s who sits with a 25-6 record overall and they have gone 16-12-2 against the spread. In the last game against Gonzaga, Saint Mary’s defense had a down game giving up 77 points and that led to the defeat. Two games ago against Pacific they won 83-52 and they need the defense to be good again. Saint Mary’s is averaging 71.9 points while their defense is giving up 59.3 points per game. Logan Johnson is having a strong season averaging 14.7 points while shooting 46.6 percent from the field and 31.1 percent from behind the three point line.
