Two Big 12 teams will wrap up their regular season on Saturday. For the BYU Cougars (5-6; 4-7-0 ATS), this is hopefully the precursor to a bowl game. Meanwhile, the Oklahoma State Cowboys (8-3-0; 7-4-0 ATS) are trying to get into the Big 12 title game before their bowl contest. These paths will converge in Boone Pickens Stadium at 3:30 p.m. EDT. Only one team can leave with their head held high. Who will it be?

One win separates the Cougars from a bowl game this season. Oklahoma handed BYU a fourth straight loss last Saturday, so the slide will have to end against Oklahoma State if they want another game in 2023. The first step will be the Big 12's worst offense having a strong showing. Kedon Slovis and company only average 308.2 yards per game. It leads to just 22.1 points. On the ground, the Cougars are only picking up 102.0 yards per game (3.5 per carry). Through the air, BYU averages 6.2 yards per pass, which leads to 206.2 passing yards. Last week was a solid step, but this offense is the Big 12's worst.
Defensively, BYU is giving up 409.9 yards per game, so things aren't much better on the other side of the ball. Opponents are putting up 28.9 points per game, including at least 30 in each of their last four games. Those were all losses. Their rushing defense allows 4.9 yards per carry and 177.3 yards per ga me. Against the pass, they surrender 7.1 yards per attempt and only have 10 sacks all season. 12 interceptions have helped, but the Cougars aren't getting many stops these days.
