BYU at San Diego – 1/7/23 College Basketball Picks and Prediction

The BYU Cougars will travel west and take on the San Diego Toreros in WCC play from the Jenny Craig Pavilion. This will mark the 25th time San Diego and BYU face off, and the Cougars hold an all-time series lead 18-6 after winning six of the last seven meetings.

BYU dropped to 12-6 after losing to LMU in Los Angeles. The Cougars and the Lions dueled down to the wire, but the host would pull away late with a five-point victory. BYU scores 74.8 points per game, while allowing 67.8 ppg, and shooting 43.9% from the field.

BYU had a strong month of December, and they’ll look to her back on track after falling in the city of Angels. The Cougars have a strong inside-outside pairing of Rudi Williams and Fousseyini Traore. Fousseyini Traore double-doubled against the Jays, and he leads the team in scoring (12.6) and rebounding (8.1). Williams scored 26 point points in both wins over Utah and Creighton, and he’s second on the team in scoring (12.4). Senior forward Gideon George led the team with 20 points in the win over Portland, and he averages 12.2 ppg and 6.2 rpg.
