The BYU Cougars and Creighton Bluejays face off on Saturday in a college basketball showdown at Michelob ULTRA Arena. When these two teams faced off in 2021 it was Creighton that secured the 83-71 victory.
Creighton comes into this game with a 6-3 record and they have gone 6-3 against the spread. Creighton got out to a fast start to the season, but they have lost two games in a row. In the last game against Nebraska, Creighton only scored 53 points, and they lost by 10 points. Francisco Farabello finished with 16 points and one rebound. Creighton is averaging 78.6 points while their defense is giving up 67.2 points per game. Ryan Kalkbrenner is averaging 15.9 points while shooting 76.2 percent from the field. On the other side of this matchup is BYU who sits with a 5-5 record and they have gone 3-6 against the spread. In the last game against Utah Valley, the offense only scored 60 points, and that led to the 15 point defeat. Two games ago against South Dakota, BYU was defeated 69-68. BYU is averaging 74.1 points while their defense is giving up 72.1 points per game. This is a team that had high expectations for this season, but it has been nothing but a disappointment. Guard Rudi Williams is having a strong season averaging 12.4 points while shooting 42.1 percent from the field.
