The Butler Bulldogs are on the road as they make the trip to face the Creighton Bluejays Thursday night. Butler comes in off a 68-46 home loss to #3 UConn in their previous contest Saturday night. Creighton was beaten 69-58 on the road by Marquette in their most recent game Friday night. In the all-time series between the two schools, the Bluejays own a 14-8 advantage and have taken three of the last four matchups. Last season, the teams split with each team winning at home: Butler prevailed 72-55 on January 26, 2022 before Creighton picked up a 54-52 victory at home in the most recent meeting on February 8, 2022.

Butler saw their four-game win streak snapped as they were drubbed by #3 UConn at home in their previous contest. The Bulldogs dropped to 8-4 overall and stand 0-1 in Big East play heading into this game as they try to even their conference mark. Against UConn, Butler gave up an 8-0 run in the first half that left them down 19-12. The margin was eight at the half (28-20) and they never got closer than four in the second half. Trailing 43-39 with 9:48 to play, Butler was outscored 25-7 the rest of the way to wind up on the wrong end of a one-sided contest. Butler shot a paltry 29.6% from the field, including three of 14 from three-point range, and was dominated on the boards by a 54-30 margin. Manny Bates led the Bulldogs with 16 points in the loss.

The Bulldogs put up an average of 72.6 points per game on the season, which puts them 175th in the nation in scoring offense. Butler pulls dow n 32.7 rebounds per contest (314th) and dish out 14.1 assists (156th in the nation) per contest. The Bulldogs are good on the defensive end of the floor, ranking 66th in scoring defense as they allow 63.7 points per game this season. Chuck Harris is leading the team with 14.3 points, 4.3 rebounds and 2.8 assists a contest. Jayden Taylor (13.8 points, four boards), Simas Lukosius (11.3 points, 4.5 boards, 3.6 assists), Manny Bates (14.1 points, seven boards) and Eric Hunter Jr. (11.7 points, 2.8 assists) are each averaging in double figures this season.
