Burdge: Rays AL East Odds Vastly Improve Amid Winning Streak'
But does this mean you should bet on them?

The Tampa Bay Rays are currently on an absolute tear, if you haven't heard, and have a perfect 9-0 record to start the season.'And their odds to win the AL East have certainly moved to reflect how the beginning of the year has gone for the Rays.'
After opening at +350 at BetMGM behind the Yankees and Blue Jays before the season, those odds are now at +145 as the favorite to win the division. So, maybe you're thinking this would be a good time to bet on these odds before they get even shorter.'
But not so fast.'
We are, after all, only nine games into the Rays' season. And yes, they are opening up a series against the Red Sox on Monday, so these odds will likely get even shorter this week (sad face emoji). But this winning streak has to end at some point and there is a lot of season left to play. And I would (sorry) look at the Yankees odds here, which have gotten longer at +155 after opening at +100.'
The Rays have so far played some teams that don't present much of a challenge in the A's, Nationals and Tigers. So when they get to the meat of the season, there's no guarantee they'll still be playing at this level. Meanwhile, the Yankees have faced the Giants, Orioles and Phillies in their quest to a 6-3 record so far.'
And just as an aside, the Red Sox's odds to win the division are at +2500 at BetMGM if you're into that sort of thing.'
But anyway, yes, the Rays' odds to win the division have vastly improved since before the season, but I wouldn't be too quick to take those odds right now, even with all the hype of their winning streak.'
