It’s Halloween and that brings us a crossover matchup from the MAC for your viewing pleasure from the Buckeye State. The Buffalo Bulls are on the road as they make the trip to take on the Toledo Rockets Tuesday night. Buffalo comes in off a 24-6 road win over Kent State in their previous contest on October 21, covering the line as a 6.5-point favorite. They had a bye week last week. Toledo earned a hard-fought 21-17 road win over Miami (OH) in their previous contest October 21, covering the line as a 2.5-point favorite. They, too, are coming off a bye. In the all-time series between the teams, the Rockets own a 7-6 advantage but the Bulls have won the last three meetings. That includes a 34-27 home win in the most recent matchup on October 22, 2022.

Buffalo won their third game in the last four contests as they shut down Kent State on the road in their previous game. The Bulls improved to 3-5 overall but stand 3-1 in the MAC, putting them right in the thick of the East Division race. Against Kent State, Buffalo gave up the first six points of the game before shutting the Golden Flashes out over the final 49-plus minutes en route to the victory. The Bulls led 7-6 after one quarter, 14-6 at the half and 17-6 after three quarters en route to the win. Buffalo owned a 331-164 edge in total offense, picked up 15 first downs while allowing 10 and owned a 32:07 to 27:53 margin in time of possession. Each team turned the ball over once in the contest.

The Bulls are struggling offensively this season as they try to find the right pieces to plug into the system. On the season, Buffalo is 106th in the nation in passing offense with 196.3 yards p er game: the team is 100th in rushing offense with 127.8 yards per contest. Buffalo is 87th of the 133 teams in the FBS to play a game this season in scoring offense with an average of 25.9 points per contest while they are 94th in scoring defense by allowing 28.9 points per game. Cole Snyder is 158 of 270 passing for 1,532 yards with 12 touchdowns and seven interceptions. He adds 39 yards and a score on the ground. CJ Ogbonna is five of 15 passing for 38 yards with one touchdown and two interceptions. He adds 74 yards and a score on the ground. Ron Cook Jr. leads the team on the ground with 90 carries for 372 yards and five scores this season. Mike Washington (74 carries, 312 yards, two TD) and Jacqez Barksdale (30 carries, 182 yards, TD) are also in the mix on the ground. In the passing game, Cole Harrity leads the team with 29 receptions for 253 yards and two scores this year. Darrell Harding Jr. (17 grabs, 266 yards, three TD), Marlyn Johnson (29 catches, 298 yards, four TD), Boobie Curry (19 receptions, 173 yards, TD), Cook Jr. (20 catches, 160 yards, TD) and Nik McMillan (10 grabs, 153 yards, TD) have all gone over the 150-yard receiving mark this season. Alex McNulty is 23 of 23 on extra point attempts but just eight of 14 on field goal attempts with a long of 53 this year.

McMillan (arm) has missed the last four contests and is questionable for this one.
