Buffalo Sabres vs. Vancouver Canucks Prediction, Preview, and Odds – 10-22-2022

Buffalo Sabres (3-1-0) vs. Vancouver Canucks (0-3-2)

The Buffalo Sabres continue their four-game road trip on the west coast Saturday, October 22, 2022, when they head to Rogers Arena in Vancouver, British Columbia, to face off against the slumping Vancouver Canucks.

Buffalo swept its two-game series against Vancouver in 2021-22. The Sabres are listed as +149 moneyline underdogs for Saturday’s clash in Canada, while the Canucks sit at -165 odds with a total of 6.5 goals.

The Buffalo Sabres have already pulled off a couple of huge upsets on their road trip. They started with a 4-2 victory at the Edmonton Oilers this past Tuesday, playing as +195 underdogs. Two days later, the Sabres stunned the Calgary Flames 6-3 as +250 moneyline dogs.

Buffalo needed just 24 shots to prevail over the Oilers, who took a thumping 48 shots toward Eric Comrie. The 27-year-old netminder had another big night at Scotiabank Saddledome in Calgary, turning 40 shots aside, while Alex Tuch scored three goals to increase his season tally to six points. Rasmus Dahlin found the back of Calgary’s net once to set an NHL record for most straight games with a goal to open a season by a defenseman.

“It doesn’t matter who we’re playing against, if they&# x2019;re the toughest team in the league or super highly-skilled, we can play with anyone,” Alex Tuch said after a huge win in Calgary.

Eric Comrie is now 2-1-0 with a 3.01 GAA and .930 save percentage on the young season. He went 10-5-1 with a 2.58 GAA and .920 save percentage in 16 starts and three relief appearances for the Winnipeg Jets in 2021-22. The Sabres are yielding 2.50 goals per game this time around while scoring 4.25 in a return. They are only 2-for-17 with the man advantage, but the Sabres’ defense also killed 12 of 14 power-play opportunities.
