The NHL betting action continues Wednesday, January 24, with the Buffalo Sabres traveling to take on the Los Angeles Kings in this interconference clash at the crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles, California, with the puck drop at 10:30 PM ET.

The Buffalo Sabres lost to the Tampa Bay Lightning on Saturday, 3-1. That was the final contest of a six-game homestand where the team went 3-3-0. The Sabres now head to the road for three games where they are 9-10-3. Buffalo plays Anaheim on Tuesday, but this preview was written prior to the conclusion of that contest.

Tampa Bay scored two goals in the first to take the lead. Dylan Cozens cut the deficit in half with his eighth goal of the season, but the Lightning added an empty net goal with a little over a minute left in the contest to seal the win. Rasmus Dahlin had an assist in the game and now has five points over his last five games. He is second on the team with 37 points. This is not a very good Sabres offense, ranked 25th in the NHL in goals per game (2.91).

Ukko-Pekka Luukkonen only allowed two goals in the game, but he faced only 15 shots. With the team playing on back-to-back nights, backup Devon Levi (8-7-2, 3.32, .889) will likely get the call. Buffalo is 18th in goals against average (3.15), but Sabres goaltenders have allowed four total goals over the last four games, including pitching two shutouts.
