The Buffalo Sabres face the Florida Panthers with both teams looking to improve in the Atlantic Division. The Sabres have a 29-23-4 record while the Panthers have a 29-25-6 record and are in the middle of the Atlantic Division. Both teams are looking to improve within the division and the Eastern Conference and the upcoming game looks to be a good one as a result.

The Sabres are having a promising season with their offense stepping up and scoring 3.69 goals per game including 20 goals in the last four games. Tage Thompson, Jeff Skinner, and Alex Tuch have scored 88 goals and 104 assists to lead the top two lines but the rest of the offense has also stepped up. Dylan Cozens, Casey Mittelstadt, and Victor Olofsson have combined for 52 goals and 63 assists while defensemen Rasmus Dahlin and Ower Power have added 18 goals and 64 assists from the point to put the offense over the top.

The offense has been great but the defense has been awful, allowing 3.49 goals per game. Dahlin and Power have combined for 6.5 defensive point shares but the rest of the unit has struggled, allowing opponents to find open shots on the net at will. Additionally, goaltender Ukko-Pekka Luukkonen has struggled with a .893 save percentage and a 3.55 goals-against average on 776 shot s with -9.7 goals saved above average.
