The Buffalo Sabres and Tampa Bay Lightning face off on Saturday in an NHL showdown at Amalie Arena. When these two teams faced off in April it was Lightning that secured the 5-0 victory. 

The Sabres headed into Friday’s game with the Carolina Hurricanes with a 7-3-0 record and they have been one of the biggest surprises in all of the NHL. The Sabres are averaging 4.3 goals per game while their defense is giving up 2.8 goals per game. The offense is ranked second in the league while the defense is ranked 8th. Rasmus Dahlin has scored six goals and added eight assists so far this season. 

On the other side of this matchup is the Tampa Bay Lightning and they sit with a 6-4-1 record overall. On Thursday, the Lightning scored three goals, but that wasn’t enough and they were defeated by a goal. Nikita Kucherov scored one goal and added four shots on goal. The Lightning are averaging 3.18 goals per game while their defense is giving up 3.09 goals per game. Nikita Kucherov is having a strong season scoring five goals and adding 11 assists so far this season. In this game, the Lightning are going to need to find offensive success in this game and get the first goal.
