Buffalo comes in off a 28-25 road win over Detroit on Thanksgiving though they failed to cover as a 9.5-point favorite. New England fell short on the road against Minnesota on Thanksgiving night as they lost 33-26, failing to cover as a 2.5-point underdog. In the all-time regular season series, the Patriots own a 76-46-1 advantage though the Bills took a 33-21 road win in the most recent matchup on December 26, 2021. The Bills also routed New England 47-17 in the AFC Wild Card Round at home on January 15, 2022.

Buffalo won two games in the span of four days in the city of Detroit as they took down the Lions in the Motor City on Thanksgiving. The Bills improved to 8-3 on the season and stand tied for the top spot in the AFC East with Miami though the Dolphins own the head-to-head tiebreaker. Against Detroit, Buffalo was in a back-and-forth game as the score was tied at seven after the opening quarter and saw the Bills up 17-14 at the half. Buffalo led 19-14 after three quarters, trailed 22-19, led 25-22 and saw the Lions tie the game at 25 with 23 seconds to play. The Bills moved quickly, covering 48 yards in four plays over 21 seconds, setting up Tyler Bass’ game-winning 45-yard kick with two seconds to play. Buffalo held a 401-326 edge in total offense, rolled up 28 first downs while allowing 22, won the time of possession 31:26 to 28:34 and forced two turnovers while committing just one in the victory.

On the year, the Bills are third in the league in passing offense with an average of 279.2 yards per game and 8th in rushing with an average of 136.7 yards per contest. Buffalo is second in the league in scoring offense by putting up 28.1 points per contest and they are fifth in the league in scoring defense by allowing 18.1 points per game. Isaiah McKenzie (30 receptions, 315 yards, four TD), Gabriel Davis (33 catches, 650 yards, five TD) and Dawson Knox (33 catches, 327 yards , two TD) each have gone over the 300-yard mark in receiving this season. Tyler Bass has drilled 32 of 33 extra point attempts and 23 of 26 field goal attempts with a long of 56 this season.

Von Miller (knee) has been ruled out for this contest after he was injured against the Lions on Thanksgiving. On Monday, tackle Dion Dawkins (ankle), safeties Damar Hamlin (illness) along with Jaquan Johnson (illness), cornerback Dane Jackson (illness), tight end Quintin Morris (illness) and wide receiver Khalil Shakir (illness) all did not practice. On the plus side of the equation, linebacker Tremaine Edmunds (groin/heel), who missed the last two games, defensive end Gregory Rousseau (ankle), who has missed the last three games and center Mitch Morse (ankle), who missed last week’s game, all were full participants in practice.
