The Buffalo Bills and Kansas City Chiefs will do battle on Sunday in what will be the marquee matchup of the first half of the NFL season and a possible preview of the AFC Championship game this season. The Bills come into this game at 4-1 on the season and after a drubbing of Pittsburgh last week. The Chiefs come in on a short-week after a hard-fought 30-29 win over the Raiders on Monday night. The Buffalo Bills have answered the call thus far in the season against some of the upper echelon teams in the league. The Bills trounced the Super Bowl Champion Rams in the season opener on the road and then came from behind to beat the Ravens on the road in rain-soaked game in Baltimore. On Sunday, the Bills will face another road test as they square off against the Chiefs in a rematch of last year's scintillating divisional round matchup won by the Chiefs in overtime. On Sunday, the Bills warmed up for the matchup with a 38-3 dominating performance against the Steelers at home.

“We came into this with the killer instinct, attitude, the mindset of domination,” Bills pass rusher Von Miller told the press after the game. “And I feel like that mindset really separates good teams from other good teams.”

The 20mph winds didn't bother superstar QB Josh Allen who threw for 424 yards and four touchdowns with one interception before being removed in the fourth quarter of the one-sided affair. Allen also led the Bills in rushing with 42 yards on just five carries. The Bills wide receiver duo of Gabe Davis and Stephon Diggs both had over 100 yards receiving on the day. Davis, who had an eye opening performance against KC in the playoffs last year, finished with 171 yards on just three catches including two touchdowns. Diggs added 102 yards receiving and a touchdown. The Bills had 552 yards of total offense and two turnovers.

On the defensive side of the ball, Buffalo allowed just three points and forced two turnovers. The Steelers averaged just 5.1 yards per play on 310 yards of total offense. The Bills defense recorded three sacks on the day and had five tackles for loss. They also had seven quarterback hits on the day.

The Bills come into this matchup with the second ranked offense in the NFL. Josh Allen is easily the front-runner for MVP through the first part of the season. The Bills may be on the lookout for a running back as the trade deadline looms as they rank just 14th in the NFL in rushing. The Bills passing attack is ranked first in the league and Allen will get WR Isaiah McKenzie back on the field from a concussion this week. Surprisingly, the Bills are just 21st in the league in red zone efficiency which likely speaks to their lack of ability to run the ball effectively. Buffalo is 7th in the NFL in turnover differential. On the defensive side of the ball, the Bills are ranked 1st in scoring defense. In addition, they are 2nd in run defense and 4th in passing defense. The Bills defense has been tough in the red zone, ranked 9th in the NFL.

Key Injuries: The Bills will be closer to 100% this week with McKenzie back and the likely return of TE Daws on Knox (foot/hamstring) and improved health of center Mitch Morse (elbow), and defensive end DaQuan Jones (hip)
