Brooklyn Nets vs. Philadelphia 76ers Prediction, Preview, and Odds – 11-22-2022

NFL Round Table Show

This Tuesday, the (8-9) Brooklyn Nets will travel to Philadelphia, PA to take on the (8-8) Philadelphia 76ers. Tipoff will be at 7:30 PM EST inside the Wells Fargo Center. These two teams have not faced off this season, but they have a ton of talent on their rosters, as I am expecting a battle in this one.

The Brooklyn Nets are coming into this one after taking down the Memphis Grizzlies, 127-115. This was their second win in a row, as they have been efficient on the offensive end of the floor. They shot 60.2% from the field against the Grizzlies, as they will have to stay hot in this one if they want to challenge the 76ers on the road.

The Philadelphia 76ers are entering this matchup after falling to the Minnesota Timberwolves, 112-109. They allowed Minnesota to shoot 47.1% from the floor, as they will have to be better on the defensive end of the court if they want to get back into the win col umn.

This game was written/published before last night's results.

The Brooklyn Nets are (6-4) in their last 10 games played and they are currently in ninth place in the Eastern Conference standings. They are also 5.5 games back from the first-place Boston Celtics, as they will need to string together some wins if they want to inch closer to the top. On offense, the Nets are scoring 111.6 points per game and they are shooting 48.5% from the floor. This is the 16th most points scored per game and the fourth-highest team shooting percentage. According to dunksandthrees.com, Brooklyn has an adjusted offensive rating of 113.6, which is the ninth-highest rating in the NBA. Kevin Durant continues to lead the way for the Nets, as he is scoring 30.4 points per game on 53.1% shooting from the field. Brooklyn has also shown that they can attack the basket or step behind the three-point arc and knock down deep jumpers. They are shooting 36.9% from three, which is the 12th-highest shooting percentage in the NBA. The N ets have also taken care of business at the free-throw line, as they are making 80.6% of their shots at the charity stripe. This is the sixth-highest percentage in the league, as they can't expect to win these games if they aren't taking advantage of their free looks at the basket.

On defense, the Nets have struggled to defend on the perimeter and they are simply giving up too many points. According to dunksandthrees.com, the Nets have an adjusted defensive rating of 113.1, which is the 23rd-highest rating in the league. They are surrendering 111.6 points per game and they have allowed their opponents to shoot 44.6% from the field. This is the 12th least amount of points given up per game and the fourth-lowest shooting percentage allowed from the field. They have continued to contest shots near the rim, but they have struggled to defend on the outside. They are currently allowing their opponents to shoot 38.1% from deep. This is the 26th highest three- point shooting percentage allowed in the NBA, as they have to contest more shots from the outside if they want to stay completive in these games. Brooklyn has also snatched 40.7 rebounds per game, which is the 26th most in the league. The Nets have to secure the ball after missed shots if they want to keep the 76ers from scoring second-chance points.

Injury Report: Nic Claxton PF (Personal) is questionable for this game. T.J. Warren SF (Foot) is listed as out.
