The slumping Nets are hoping for a turnaround in the New Year as they head into 2024 with a three-game losing streak. The Nets' latest loss was a 124-108 loss at OKC on Sunday night. Brooklyn shot just 38% from the field and hit just 26% of their three-point shots in the loss. Mikal Bridges led the way with 22 points while Cam Thomas chipped in with 20 points and Nic Claxton contributed a double-double of 15 points and 16 rebounds in the loss.

“You look at the stat sheet and we did some really good things tonight,” Brooklyn coach Jacque Vaughn said. “They had 20 corner (3-point attempts) and made two of them. We missed some free throws. We shoot 40 3s, pretty good. We shared the basketball and didn’t turn it over. How many more shots did we have? Seventeen more shots. Pretty good recipe for us.

The Nets need some support as they start to dip dow n the Eastern Conference standings. They are now three games under .500 in the midst of this three-game slide. The Nets come into this game 12th in the NBA in scoring offense. They are just 21st in field goal percentage but sixth in three-point shooting. The Nets rely on the three-ball quite a bit, ranked eighth in the NBA in three-point field goals per game. Defensively, the Nets 19th in scoring defense. They are 13th in defensive field goal percentage and 20th in 3-point defense. The Nets are fourth on the glass this season and sixth in turnovers per game.

Key Injuries: PG Ben Simmons (back) remains out.
