A pair of Eastern Conference teams that headed into the weekend on the outside of the playoff picture take the floor in Buzz City looking for a win. The Brooklyn Nets are on the road as they make the trip to take on the Charlotte Hornets Saturday night. Charlotte was in action on the road Friday night as they faced Memphis so they also are playing the second game of a back-to-back situation. The Hornets were dumped 106-88 on the road by that same Bulls squad Wednesday night in their most recent game. In the all-time regular season series between the teams, the Nets own a 62-56 advantage but the Hornets took two of three meetings last season, including a 119-110 road win in the mos t recent matchup on March 27, 2022.

T.J. Warren is still recovering from a pair of surgeries on his foot. The team is expected to re-evaluate his status sometime in November. Simmons (knee) has missed the last two games: he was ruled out for both Friday’s game at Washington and this contest. Meanwhile, Irving was suspended for at least five games by the franchise November 3 for statements made stemming back to last week. The earliest return date for him, as the five games is the minimum suspension, would be November 13 against the Lakers.
