Brooklyn Nets at Charlotte Hornets – 11/5/22 NBA Picks and Prediction

The Charlotte Hornets play host to the Brooklyn Nets at the Spectrum Center on Saturday night.

The Brooklyn Nets have endured a rough start to the season as they’ve lost six of their first nine games, they’ve had to change coaches and are now dealing with Kyrie Irving being suspended for five games. The Nets needed a win to get their season back on track and they did just that last night in a 128-86 blowout road win over the Wizards. Kevin Durant led the way with 28 points, nine rebounds and 11 assists, Nic Claxton added 18 points, Cam Thomas scored 17 points with six assists while Royce O’Neale chipped in with 13 points and eight assists. As a team, the Nets shot 55 percent from the field and 14 of 28 from the 3-point line as they set the tone with 38 points in the first quarter to take a 12-point lead into halftime, before they ran away with it in the second half to make it a complete blowout.

Meanwhile, the Charlotte Hornets have been in a real slump as they’ve lost five of their past six games and they will be hoping to put an end to a three-game skid after getting thrashed by the Grizzlies in a 130-99 road loss last night. Kelly Oubre Jr. led the team in scoring with 17 points, James Bouknight added 14 points with five assists while PJ Washington chipped in with 10 points on two of 15 shooting. As a team, the Hornets shot just 38 percent from the field and eight of 27 from the 3-point line but the problems were on the defensive end as they allowed 41 points in the first quarter to fall into a deep hole which only got deeper as the game wore on.
