Brewers vs Giants Prediction & Pick

The Brewers need a strong performance from starting pitcher Corbin Burnes to get out of their skid. After a slow start to the campaign, the former Cy Young winner has turned things around, going 3-0 with a 1.85 ERA and 21 strikeouts over 24 1/3 innings in his last four starts. He's also 3-1 with a 2.25 ERA in 12 previous tilts (five starts) against San Francisco.

Burnes shouldn't have much of an issue outdueling Giants starter Sean Manaea. The former 2013 first-rounder has been awful through six appearances (four starts), tallying a 7.85 ERA while giving up 17 runs on 19 hits over just 18 1/3 innings pitched.

Considering how the Giants have lost four of Manaea's last five starts, the Brewers are in a great spot to get back to winning. Talented hitters like Rowdy Tellez, William Contreras, and Christian Yelich shouldn't have issues generating offense tonight as long as Manaea doesn't suddenly become a Cy Young-quality arm.

With the odds also on their side, back the Brewers to win tonight.

Final Score Prediction:'Brewers: 7 | Giants: 4

Brewers vs Giants Best Bet

While Burnes has been playing some solid baseball lately, I don't like the idea of him finishing with more than 6.5 strikeouts tonight. For starters, he's only gone over that total once in six starts, needing to pitch eight innings to do so. It was the only time he's been in a game that long this year, never making it beyond the sixth in his other appearances.

Furthermore, the Giants only tally 9.05 strikeouts per game (No. 11). Considering how that number has dropped to 6.23 in their last three outings, I see it being more likely that Corbin finishes with fewer than 6.5 Ks tonight.
