Brett McMurphy's Way-Too-Early College Football Top 25 Rankings for 2022 | Action Network

INDIANAPOLIS – While waiting for Monday night's SEC Invitational final between Alabama and Georgia – also known as the College Football Playoff title game – there's no need to wait any longer to find out who will be next year's top teams.

That's right: it's The Action Network's ridiculously-too-early-Top 25 rankings for 2022. And my first Top 25 rankings of 2022 is headed by the two best teams of 2021: Alabama and Georgia.

Alabama and Georgia are among seven SEC teams in my Top 25. Led by my No. 3 team Ohio State, the Big Ten has six programs in my Top 25, followed by the Big 12 (3), ACC (3), Mountain West (2), Pac-12 (2), AAC (1) and Notre Dame.

The Action Network's power ratings listed with each team are from Action Network senior writer Collin Wilson, and currently do not factor in player transfers or players that may leave for the NFL. Wilson's power ratings are expected to change drastically when rosters and/or coaching staffs are finalized in the coming weeks.
