The Boston Red Sox and Kansas City Royals face off on Friday in an MLB showdown at Kaufmann Stadium. On Thursday it was the Royals that were able to pull off the 7-2 upset.
The Red Sox have fallen back below .500 again with their loss on Thursday and they sit with a 53-54 record. The Red Sox’s offense has been fine, but their pitching staff at issues has given them problems. The Red Sox are giving up 4.66 runs per game which is 24th best in the league, and in this game they need better pitching. Trevor Story has hit 15 home runs and driven in 58 RBIs this season.
On the other side of this matchup is the Kansas City Royals who currenlty sit with a 42-64 record overall, but they have at least been more competitive the last month. The Royals have overall struggled this season all over the field. The Royals pitching is giving up 5.06 runs per game which is 26th in the league.Salvador Perez has hit 14 home runs and driven in 43 RBIs.
