On Saturday night in Toronto, Boston defeated the Raptors 106-104 despite playing the game without leading scorer Jayson Tatum and losing starters Marcus Smart and Robert Williams III to mild injuries early on. Grant Williams scored a career-high 25 points and Jaylen Brown dropped 27 points as the Celtics overcame adversity to steal a win over the Raptors.
“It says a lot about our team,” Boston coach Joe Mazzulla said of the short-handed victory. “In the beginning of the game, you could obviously feel that we just didn’t have the juice. We just kept playing. We never wavered, we made great plays. Guys did a great job managing the game.”
