Boston Celtics vs. Miami Heat Prediction, Preview, and Odds – 5-21-2023

Some might say, if you lose the first two games of a series at home, you're done, its over, sayonara, see you next year. Whether that's the case here we shall see, but the Celtics are in a deep hole, down 0-2 heading to Miami for Game 3 of their Eastern Conference finals matchup. Tipoff is Sunday night at 8:30 p.m. EDT at the Kaseya Center in Miami.

The Boston Celtics are in big trouble. They once again blew a fourth quarter lead and lost to the Miami Heat in game 2 of the Eastern Conference finals. They are now down 0-2 and they head for Miami for Game 3. This was just a heartbreaker because the Celtics led most of the way, but the Heat hung around and hung around and then in the fourth quarter, they made some big shots, made some stops, and overtook Boston to win 111-105.

“At the end of the day, we have a real, real decision to make,” Celtics forward Grant Williams said, reported ESPN. “And that decision is going to be, are we going to come back and really set the tone for the rest of this year and really make a statement, or are we going to come out and lay down? And I don't think this team is built for laying down.” Williams got into it with Jimmy Butler in the fourth quarter, but it seemed to fire up Butler, who made some big buckets. Celtics stars Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown were not up to the task as they disappeared in the fourth quarter. Tatum led  Boston with 34 points and 13 rebounds while Brown added 16 points.
