Boston won their third straight game as they took down a Philadelphia team that was minus Joel Embiid and Tyrese Maxey at home Friday night. The Celtics improved to 15-4 on the season and held a three-game lead over the 76ers for the top spot in the Eastern Conference. Against Philadelphia, Boston trailed by eight after the opening quarter, led by three at the half and was in a tight game the entire second half. Trailing by one with 2:28 to play, the Celtics closed the game on a 10-3 run to earn the win despite Jayson Tatum being ejected late in the third quarter. Boston shot 50.6% from the field, including 16 of 33 from three-point range, and cashed in 31 of 36 free throw attempts to offset turning the ball over 20 times. Tatum (seven rebounds) and Derrick White (six rebounds, five assists) each had 21 points in the win to lead the way.
