The Boston Celtics and the Orlando Magic duke it out at the Amway Center on Saturday night.
The Boston Celtics will be gunning for a third straight victory to start their season after outlasting the Heat in a 111-104 road win last night. Jayson Tatum led the team with 29 points, five rebounds and four assists, Jaylen Brown added 28 points on 12 of 18 shooting while Derrick White chipped in with 10 points, seven rebounds and three blocks. As a team, the Celtics shot 51 percent from the field and 14 of 33 from the 3-point line as they leaned heavily on the duo of Tatum and Brown who delivered from start to finish after getting off to a quick start. The Celtics were on point defensively which kept them at bay after building an early 14-point lead.
Meanwhile, the Orlando Magic will be hoping to avoid a third straight defeat after getting stopped by the Hawks in a 108-98 road loss last night. Cole Anthony led the team with 25 points on eight of 12 shooting off the bench, Paolo Banchero added 20 points with 12 rebounds and three blocks while Wendell Carter Jr. chipped in with 14 points. As a team, the Magic shot just 41 percent from the field and eight of 34 from the 3-point line as they held the Hawks to just 19 points in the first quarter to take the early lead which they kept for most of the game, until the fourth quarter where they got outscored by 28-17 to fall short in the end.
