The offense has been great but the defense has also stepped up, allowing only 2.12 goals per game. Hampus Lindholm and Matt Grzelcyk have combined for 8.3 defensive point shares and 125 blocked shots while Brandon Carlo, Connor Clifton, and Charlie McAvoy have combined for 9.0 defensive point shares to add depth to the unit. In addition, goaltender Linus Ullmark has been great with a .936 save percentage and a 1.90 goals-against average on 927 shots.
