The Boston Bruins head to Texas hoping to shake off the team's first rough stretch of the 2022-23 season. In the team's last five games, the Bruins have gone just 1-3-1 after reeling off six straight wins before that. The Bruins came off of a bye week following the All-Star break and looked rusty in taking a 2-1 loss to the Capitals, just their second regulation loss at home this season. The Bruins spotted the Capitals the game's first two goals before tallying their sole goal in the second period, courtesy of Nick Foligno. The Bruins went 0-for-4 on the power play and are now 0-for-17 in their last 17 chances.

“I think it’s puck movement, we just have to make quicker decisions, but I didn’t like our decisions with puck movement on breakouts and neutral zone counters and O-zone play,” Montgomery told reporters, after the loss. “Usually when I’m behind the bench, us ually when I’m thinking, ‘Move it now,’ it’s already moving and when I said, ‘Move it now (today),’ I could have said it two more times.”

The Bruins will need to crank up their offense, particularly on the power play in this battle in Dallas. On the season, Boston is second in goals per game this season and are fifth in shooting percentage. On the defensive end, the Bruins are still first in goals against average. They are first in the league in penalty kills but have now dropped to sixth on the power play after the team's recent rough patch.

Key Injuries: LW Jake DeBrusk remains out.
