In a game with a combined 38 penalty minutes, Patrice Bergeron (27 goals, 57 points this year) opened the scoring during power play at 6:46 of the first period before the Bolts equalized while short-handed just under three minutes later, with Garnet Hathaway (12 goals, 21 points) eventually breaking the tie at the end of the second frame. With 10 outings remaining in the regular campaign, Boston needs eight more victories to set a new single-season win record.
Goalie Linus Ullmark (36-5-1 on the year with a 1.92 GAA and a .937 save percentage) made 26 saves yest erday, but is set to vacate the crease for Jeremy Swayman ahead of tonight’s trip to Raleigh. Swayman, who has posted a 19-6-4 tally for the ongoing season with a 2.19 GAA and a .921 save percentage, is 1-1-0 against the Carolina Hurricanes in past meetings with a 1.62 GAA and a .931 save percentage.
