The Boston Bruins face the Carolina Hurricanes with both teams looking to build off of great seasons. The Bruins have a 38-6-4 record and are in first place in the Atlantic Division while the Hurricanes have a 31-9-8 record and with a four-game winning streak have leaped into first place in the Metropolitan Division. Both teams are looking to remain near the top of the Eastern Conference and the upcoming game should be a great one as a result.

The Bruins are having a remarkable season with their offense stepping up and scoring 3.77 goals per game. David Pastrnak, Brad Marchand, and David Krejci have scored 65 goals and 91 assists to lead the top two lines but the entire offense has stepped up. Patrice Bergeron, Taylor Hall, and Pavel Zacha have combined for 41 goals and 60 assists while defensemen Hampus Lindholm and Charlie McAvoy have added 10 goals and 52 assists from the point to put the offense over the top.

The offense has been great but the defense has also been dominant, allowing only 2.04 goals per game including only seven goals in the last seven games. Hampus Lindholm and Matt Grzelcyk have combined for 8.2 defensive point shares and 118 blocked shots while Brandon Carlo, Charlie McAvoy, and Connor Clifton have combined for 9.1 defensive point shares to add depth to the unit. In addition, goaltender Linus Ullmark is having a great year with a .937 save percentage and a 1.86 goals-against average on 892 shots.
