Boston Bruins at San Jose Sharks – 1/7/23 NHL Picks and Prediction

The Boston Bruins and San Jose Sharks face off on Saturday in an NHL showdown at the SAP Center. When these two teams faced off in February it was the Bruins that secured the 3-1 victory. 

The Bruins come into this game with a 30-4-4 record and they have gone 11-4-1 at home. On Thursday against the Los Angeles Kings, the Bruins scored five goals and that was enough to secure the three goal victory. Trent Fredric finished with four shots and two goals. The Bruins are averaging 3.76 goals while their defense is giving up 2.16 goals per game. The defense is second in the league while the offense is ranked 1st. David Pastrnak has scored 27 goals and added 25 assists so far this season. 

On the other side of this matchup is San Jose who sits with a 12-20-7 record overall and they have gone 4-10-6 at home. The Sharks have had a down season but they are coming off a win in the last game. The Sharks scored five goals against the Blackhawks, and secured the three goal victory. Logan Couture and Erik Karlsson both finished with two assists. San Jose is averaging 3.05 goals while their defense is giving up 3.64 goals per game. The defense is going to need to step up in this game, or it could be a long game. Erik Karlsson has 13 goals and added 40 assists.
