Boise State Broncos (12-4) vs. UNLV Rebels (12-3)

The 2022-23 NCAA men’s basketball season continues Wednesday, January 11, with the Boise State Broncos facing off against the UNLV Rebels in the Mountain West Conference battle at Thomas & Mack Center in Las Vegas, Nevada.

The tip-off is set for 11:00 PM ET, and the Rebels open as small 1.5-point home favorites with a total of 134.5 points. UNLV is winless in five consecutive meetings with Boise State, so let’s take a closer look.

The Boise State Broncos (12-4; 9-5-1 ATS; 2-1 conf.) are coming off Saturday’s 82-59 dismantling of the Utah State Aggies. The bookies expected to see a tight battle, setting the Broncos as 2-point home favorites, but it was a one-way street. Boise State shot 50.0% from the field (11-for-19 from deep) and posted a nice 18/11 assist-to-turnover ratio while outrebounding the Aggies 41-29.

Sophomore forward Tyson Degenhart led the way for Boise State last Saturday, tallying a double-double of 19 points and ten rebounds. Senior guard Max Rice posted a line of 14 points, five rebounds, and five assists, while fellow senior G Marcus Shaver notched ten points, seven boards, and five dimes. Shaver is averaging a team-high 14.5 points and 6.8 rebounds on the season.

Boise State is No. 35 in the NCAA NET Rankings and No. 49 in the KenPom rankings. The Broncos score 104.2 points per 100 possessions (137th in the nation) and surrender just 89.9 points in return (14th). They allow 5.6 triples per game (28th) on a 28.4 percentage clip (15th). On the other side of the ball, the Broncos make 48.9% of their 2-pointers (257th) and 35.9% of their 3-pointers (90th) while handing out 11.6 assists per game (307th).
