Boise State benched starting quarterback Hank Bachmeier in this game after he went 4/8 for 30 yards and two interceptions. Taylen Green stepped in for Bachmeier and threw for 155 yards and one interception. There is a quarterback competition going on this week, so it will be interesting to see how Boise State handles it. Taylen Green added 102 yards and two touchdowns on the ground, while Ashton Jeanty caught six passes for 52 yards for the Broncos. The Boise State defense allowed 470 yards in this game, but was able to force three turnovers.

The New Mexico Lobos are 1-0 this season after defeating Maine by a score of 41-0 in Week 1. New Mexico led 21-0 at halftime and was able to coast to the easy victory in the second half. Miles Kendrick threw for 170 yards, two touchdowns, and two interceptions for the Lobos. Sherod White rushed for 58 yards and two scores, while Geordon Porter caught five passes for 54 yards and one touchdown in the New Mexico win. The New Mexico defense shut down Maine in this game, only allowing 118 yards and forcing two turnovers in the win.
