The reeling Toronto Blue Jays head to Fenway Park, and we'll look at whether they can right themselves in our Blue Jays vs. Red Sox player props based on the best MLB odds.

The Toronto Blue Jays seem to redefine their rock bottom daily, which now includes one of the team's top prospects, Orelvis Martinez, being suspended for 80 games. The Blue Jays will look to stop the bleeding on Monday at Fenway Park against the Boston Red Sox, with the first pitch at 7:10 p.m. ET.

The Jays have lost six straight games and have mostly taken their beatings in typical 2024 Blue Jays fashion. A 6-5 loss to the Cleveland Guardians on Sunday was the exception offensively for Toronto, as the other defeats all featured three runs or fewer from the Blue Jays.

A once reliable pitching staff has succumbed to both injuries and ineffectiveness, too, resulting in the Jays allowing s even-plus runs three times during their losing streak. And two of those thumpings came from the Red Sox, who swept the Jays last week.

Can Cy Young odds contender Tanner Houck dominate Toronto again?

Here are our best Blue Jays vs. Red Sox player props and MLB picks.

Blue Jays vs. Red Sox expert picks

Strik eout props are difficult when the Blue Jays are involved, as their offense is putrid in perhaps the worst way imaginable, given how baseball is played here in 2024. They've struck out the third-fewest times in MLB, meaning the ball is in play off their bats a whole lot, but the contact is consistently of the weak variety.

That's why Toronto is the ideal matchup for Houck, whose heavy reliance on his imposing slider and sinker makes him a weak-contact machine.

Houck has been throwing his slider a whopping 41.8% of the time and his sinker 30.7%. The slider has been especially effective, with opponents hitting a mere .190 against it. That's translated into a groundball rate in the 92nd percentile, according to Baseball Savant.

Four Blue Jays players are getting regular at-bats whose hard-hit percentage rests below 35%, setting them up poorly against a rising hurler who has allowed three-plus earned runs ju st four times over his 15 starts in 2024.

A $10 wager at these -125 odds from Betway would result in an $18 payout, with an implied probability of 55.6%.

George Springer has spent much of 2024 flailing and failing.

Often, a player descends during the back half of his contract when he was a major free-agent splash. But there's a sharp contrast between a gradual decline and a cliff plunge, and Springer is becoming a clear example of the latter.

He's slashing just .191/.282/.285, and his OPS has now cratered from .732 in 2023 to .567 this year. Springer has already been removed from the leadoff spot atop the Blue Jays lineup, but he creates a hole wherever the veteran sits. His hard-hit percentage is at career-worst 34.8%, down significantly from just two seasons ago when Springer was generating much more power at 42.3% in 2022.

Now he'll face a starting pitcher in Houck who regularly embarrasses hitters with his top-tier breaking pitches, which seem to be the root of Springer's struggles. He's hitting just .159 against breaking b alls, and the night won't get any easier when up against Boston's sixth-ranked bullpen.

A $10 wager at these juicy +200 odds would end with a payout of $30 on an implied probability of 33.3%.
