This matchup between the Toronto Blue Jays and Los Angeles Angels is the only Friday night matchup that pits two teams against each other that have above .500 winning percentages.
The Blue Jays enter play Friday at 4-3 while the Angels are 4-2. It’s still very early in the season, but both of these teams figure to at least be in the wild-card mix in the American League. That would certainly be an exciting development for the Angels as Los Angeles has made the playoffs only once since 2009 and that came in 2014 when they were swept in the first round by the Kansas City Royals.
The Blue Jays also have high hopes after remaking their lineup in the offseason with the additions of Daulton Varsho, Brandon Belt and Kevin Kiermaier.
