Betting Odds Suggest Wake Forest Poised For NCAA Berth

Entering the weekend, FanDuel gave Wake Forest -275 odds to make the NCAA Tournament. After Wake Forest's 83-79 win over Duke on Saturday that featured elite offense and a controversial court storming, FanDuel no longer offers the betting market.

While “bracketologists” — Wake Forest's feud with ESPN’s Joe Lunardi seems unending — continue to put the Demon Deacons firmly on the tournament bubble, sports betting odds paint a different picture. Not only did Wake Forest add a Quad 1 victory to its resume by beating Duke, but basketball analytics website KenPom.com also projects the Demon Deacons to be favored in all four of their remaining regular season games. That includes a road game with Virginia Tech (KenPom has Wake Forest as a 1-point favorite) and a home game with Clemson (KenPom lists Wake Forest as a 4-point favorite).

Both of those victories would be considered Quad 1 wins. If Wake Forest wins both or either of those games, it'll enhance the team's resume and negate the need for a special end-of-season push to secure an NCAA Tournament berth.

Wake Forest's NCAA Tournament odds

Wake Forest can't afford to lose out, but assuming the Demon Deacons avoid a late-season collapse, they'll likely secure a spot in the NCAA Tournament field. If they do that, they could be dangerous in the Big Dance.
