Assuming that Max Scherzer and Jacob deGrom will both be healthy heading into the postseason, it's very tough for me to imagine that the Mets' 1-2 punch won't give this team an edge against their opponents, even the Dodgers. With Chris Bassitt as a legitimate third starter and Edwin Diaz as arguably the game's best closer, I have high hopes for the Mets on the mound. At the plate, this is also a very complete team, with veterans like Pete Alonso, Francisco Lindor, Starling Marte, Jeff McNeil and others as proven producers. Rather than taking a shot on a wild-card team or getting shorter odds on the Dodgers, I'd rather take advantage of these odds.
