Best NHL player prop bets for Wednesday, 3/1

The middle of the week provides us with a mid-sized NHL slate. We have 6 games on the board, and some great ones at that. The Maples Leafs vs Oilers may very well be a Stanley Cup Final preview and the Devils will be debuting newly acquired Timo Meier. It's set to be an exciting night on the ice, and we've found 2 great spots for the player prop market. Keep an eye on Meier's usage and a few other players on new teams, but we're going with some tried and true skaters.'

Along with our player props, be sure to check out all of our NHL picks for today's action.

Jason Robertson over 0.5 goals (-105)

We've got 2 goal-scorer props for you tonight, and neither of them will come as much of a surprise. Despite being just 25 years old, Robertson has become the face of the Dallas Stars, and they'll be looking to bounce back from a recent upset. They fell to the Vancouver Canucks in overtime on Monday night. However, advanced metrics per MoneyPuck projected them winning that game 87.8% percent of the time with an expected goals score of 5.15 to 2.07.'

The bottom line is that they didn't have the bounces go their way, but now they get another strong matchup on home ice. They're welcoming in the Arizona Coyotes, who are already one of the worst teams in hockey. On top of that, they'll be on the 2nd night of a back-to-back after having been in Arizona last night. They've allowed the 7th-most goals over the last month and 8th-most overall. That's in part due to the Stars, who have defeated them by a combined score of 11-2 this season. In their first matchup, Robertson scored 2 goals. After getting a bit unlucky even with 5 shots on goal Monday night, we'll trust him to find the back of the net tonight.'

Alex Ovechkin over 0.5 goals (-110)
