He has been the leader of a New Jersey Devils team that has been the surprise story of the season. Their 32-13-4 record has them in 2nd place in the Metro Division, and Hughes has been incredible. The 21-year-old looks poised for a career that involves multiple Hart Trophies for the league's MVP. His 64 points through 49 games are the 6th-most in the NHL and his +16 plus-minus is impressive as well.'
