Best NHL player prop bets for Monday, 12/19

After back-to-back 2-0 nights, we’re on a nice little 6-1 run, so let’s start out the new week just as strong. Monday features 6 great matchups on the ice, both overall and for player props. We'll be targeting one of the first games of the night and a rematch of teams that are already meeting for the third time this season. Before we dive in, we'd like to note that an honorable mention that nearly made our favorite plays is for Alex Ovechkin of the Washington Capitals to record a goal. We've also found great value elsewhere, so let's dive in.

Along with our player props, be sure to check out all of our NHL picks for today's action.

Joe Pavelski over 0.5 assists (+110)

One of the first puck drops of the night is in Columbus with the Dallas Stars taking on the Blue Jackets. We've been picking on Columbus recently, and it's been extremely profitable. There's no reason to change our process, as they're still allowing the 2nd-most goals per game this season. They're also 1 of just 2 teams left in the Eastern Conference with just 10 wins on the season. Furthermore, they've allowed at least 4 goals in their last 4 games. That's something Joe Pavelski and the Stars can easily take advantage of.'

Despite a loss, they were able to put up 4 goals on one of the best defensive teams in the Carolina Hurricanes on Saturday. Dallas has also scored the 4th-most goals throughout the entire season, and nearly 3.5 goals per game both on the road and in the last month. Pavelski has been a huge part of that success with his 31 points through 32 games. He skates alongside Jason Robertson and Roope Hintz, the only 2 skaters on the Stars with more points. Of his 31 points, 20 have been assists, and we're anticipating him to send a helper to Robertson tonight. Pavelski also had 2 assists the last time he faced Columbus, and should repeat that success tonight.

Roman Josi over 0.5 assists (-105)
